Disappointment

We met with our SW yesterday and she does not want to finish our home study. She believed us that we really did everything we could in the situation with our former foster children and the the agency hung us out to try but she thinks we should not adopt at this time. That we should put our "energies to help a child into other endeavors". We don't want to "help" a child we want to add to our family.

We are disappointed and I hate that we have lost the money that we paid to her. However, we are going to move forward with our PRIDE training and see what the future brings us. Plus, after everything, we are just glad to not have to deal with her anymore. This also means that we won't be adopting LB*, I hope that a family comes forward for her.

Maybe I have been trying on my own to make this happen and not really listening to my Father. It's hard but I think all of this has forced me to step back and give up control.

*If anyone knows of a family looking for a little girl around 6 with a gorgeous smile and sweet personality please contact me. She does have CP and is nonverbal, she uses a ponywalker and a wheelchair to be mobile and a supertalker to communicate. There is a video her agency will send to interested families.

Update on the Update

I really want. to. SCREAM.

Remember I posted about the Adoption Update? Well, I spoke too soon. Social Worker was taking forever to get back to us as to whether she was finished so we finally called her and she has found something else she needs before she can be done. I am so frustrated and angry. I really feel like a lot of this has just been her way of holding us up in hopes LB will be matched with someone else. She does not want us to adopt her and they were supposed to have her staffing May 1st.

All I can do is pray, I know that God has promised that she is our child. I have been questioning it and thinking that I was mistaken, but I know that what He spoke was what He meant. During church this morning I started looking up verses that dealt with promise, Hebrews 11:33 seemed to be the one that spoke to me: "...through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,". I'm praying for favor, that the mouths of the lions would be shut, and that Rick and I would both continue to have faith.

Will you pray with us? I am so tired of all this. I just want to have this homestudy done and be officially matched with my child.

Adoption Update

I haven't posted much about the adoption lately. How the home study is coming along or anything about LB. I'm pretty sure it's because it's been frustrating and when I wasn't working on the issues we ran into I just didn't want to think about it. And what were these issues you ask.... Well, apparently for a HS you need to include proof that this child will be insured once you have adopted her and she will. But did you know how IMPOSSIBLE it is to get the insurance company to send you anything proving this!? AYE YI YI!! We finally found something online that she can make work, but the agony of those weeks of waiting. OY. The other thing was a letter from a counselor that I saw SEVEN years ago. The counselor is MIA, and for a while there so was any one else who might be able to help me at that particular Clinic. It took me four weeks, but that letter should be going out to our SW some time next week and we will be moving on. Almost there, I think I can see the Finish Line. FINALLY!

Also, our plans may be changng again, but right now that is indefinite. The time is just about up to submit HS's for LB and our SW still feels that it would not be a wise decision for our family. We are looking in other areas and just waiting and praying for the child that is truly meant to be a part of our family. I am still trying to be patient, that's a work in progress. But, it's coming along.
